The School of Dance is in association with the BBO – dance. bbodance is an international dance awarding organisation previously known as the British Ballet Organization (BBO). They provide syllabi, examinations, teacher training, and inspiring events. Bbodance is our examination board, it is OFQual registered and all graded examination students gain UCAS points.

Grade 1-3 Ballet/tap/jazz/modern/Musical theatre	Level 1 Award	Level 1 is the equivalent OF D-G GCSE	Age of students taking this level is age 7 and above
Grade 4- 5 Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Modern/Musical Theatre.	Level 2 Award	Level 2 is the equivalent of A*-C in GCSE	Age of students taking this level is 9 and above
Grade 6-8 Ballet/Tap/Jazz (this is the none vocational route, for those students that love to dance once a week or as a hobby)	Level 3 Certificate	Level 3 is the equivalent of an A level	Age of students taking this level is 11 and above
Intermediate foundation Vocational Route – For those students wishing to pursue a career in dancing/ performing or further education with the arts Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Modern/Musical Theatre	Level 2 Award	Level 2 is the equivalent of A*-C in GCSE	Age of students taking this level is 11 and above
Intermediate Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Modern/Musical Theatre	Level 3 Certificate	Level 3 is the equivalent of an A level	Age of students taking this level is 13 and above
Advance 1 Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Modern	Level 4 Certificate	BTEC Professional Diploma	Age of students taking this level is 15 and above

The School of Dance holds an annual Prize Giving where all students come to collect exam certificates and badges. We also have many trophies to give out. The School Cup and The Penny Trophy from the former principle and founder of the school are too name a few. One of our greatest awards to give out is a full years scholarship this allows the student to attend not just their own normal classes for free but any other grade or discipline they wish to try or get involved in. It’s an honour to give such a great award to a student that has shown dedication, commitment and a true passion for their dance.

During our students time with us we love to encourage them to work with other companies and teachers so they can gain new experience, ideas and be inspired by the wonderful talent we have around.

Bbodance also offer a scholarship scheme allowing those successful students to attend monthly classes with some of the industries most respected and talented teachers.

• Amy Waterman– Awarded Junior BBO scholarship for Ballet
• Connie Duncan – Gained a full time Place at The Hammond School (Full time dance and education training)
• Connie Duncan – awarded artistic interpretation at BBO dance days
• Connie Duncan – English Youth Ballet scholarship performing in Cinderella in Hollywood- Theatre Royal Norwich
• Connie Duncan graduated from The Hammond in 2023
• Connie Duncan is currently training at Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts on a full scholarship
• Isabelle Hume – English youth ballet – Cinderella in Hollywood – Theatre Royal Norwich
• Hannah Futter is currently training at London Studios Centre on a full scholarship
• Amy Waterman is currently a Mid Ballet Scholar for BBOdance
• Amy Waterman has achieved a level 3 teaching assistant qualification
• Dylan Cole-Reeve has held a junior BBOdance ballet scholarship for 2 consecutive years
• Gabriella Best has achieved a level 3 teaching assistant qualification
• Ella Webb has achieved a level 4 teaching qualification
• Many of my girls have performed for the professional pantomime at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange.
